Scheduling Guidelines

Please read before scheduling:
  • We are a direct-pay practice–out of network for your insurance
  • You may schedule online (click on the icon on the bottom right of screen) or call at 310-620-2432 for an appointment
  • All fees must be paid at the time of service (see pricing menu)
  • To secure your appointment, you must provide a debit or credit card on our encrypted system.  We will not use this card for anything other than the $50 cancellation fee (see next).  You may enter information securely here:

  • Cancellation or rescheduling your appointment within 48 hours will result in a $50 fee.

  • Autoimmune consultation appointments will require a $250 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT.  Changes will be honored at no additional fee if made more than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment.

  • In order keep our practice fee schedule low, for CREDIT CARDS ONLY there is a 3% processing fee. To avoid this fee, you are welcome to bring a debit card, check or cash for payment. For non-cosmetic services, you may use your HSA or FSA card (no additional fees).
  • A superbill will be provided with each visit for medical services.
  • NOTE: Due to government regulations, patients with Medicare, Medicare Supplements, or other government insurance programs can be seen for medical services but cannot be reimbursed by their insurance for services rendered by Dr. Abuav.  Patients with Medi-Cal insurance may not be seen by Dr. Abuav for medical services.

This is generally for FOLLOW UP PATIENTS ONLY with up to 2 simple issues where procedures are NOT required.

  • Follow up on several moles that are being monitored
  • Stable acne or eczema follow up for refills only
  • Accutane follow up
  • Upper body skin examination
  • Cosmetic consultation for established patient



This is the MINIMUM time required for a new patient, regardless of the problems discussed.

  • One new localized rash
  • Autoimmune follow up appointment with monitoring
  • Full body skin examination (both new and established patients)
  • Cosmetic consultation for new patient
  • Patients with diagnosis requiring extensive medication monitoring/counseling
  • Hair loss consultation
  • Patients with multiple problems requiring counseling/monitoring
  • Patients with extensive skin cancer history and/or those requiring use of imaging for monitoring (multiple atypical or dysplastic moles)
  • Those needing or desiring multiple biopsies/removals (note you will only be charged for the time spent while NOT performing the procedure). There are additional charges for the procedures.  g. you book a skin exam and need biopsies, you would be charged for time with doctor—20 minutes + the procedure fees (see below).
  • New autoimmune or 2nd opinion consultation
  • Note, outside records review will incur additional charges. Abuav prefers the records are electronically delivered to her PRIOR the appointment in order to avoid requiring follow up visits to complete the consultation.
